John Jay and Hugh (Ken) Phares created Jay-Phares Corporation in 1988 as a development, brokerage, commercial & residential property leasing and property management firm. At the same time, a facilities management group was created to administer maintenance for our managed properties. Our facilities management arm developed into a commercial and residential tenant improvement group. We are experienced commercial and residential renovators. We pride ourselves on the rehabilitation of under valued properties. Our experience and reputation as purveyors of quality workmanship proceed us.
Heidi is a native of Oakland and graduated from Skyline High School. She received her BS in Sociology from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Heidi came to Jay-Phares Corporation in October, 2010. She began as the Office Manager providing clerical support for all aspects of the business. In September, 2011, Heidi also assumed the role of Accounting Manager. In this role she processes payroll, prepares financials for Jay-Phares, as well as all clients, and does all the accounting for the business.
Gabriel Ortega is the Senior Maintenance & Construction Director of Jay-Phares Corporation’s carpenters, plumbers and construction trade craftsmen. He has a variety of skills including engineering, plumbing, and architectural design. Under Gabriel’s direction, Jay-Phares Corporation has built commercial restaurants, medical facilities, numerous retail stores and assembly halls, as well as renovated dilapidated housing, fire-damaged shopping centers, and commercial properties needing rehabilitation.
Wayne Ingbritson is the Business and Operations Manager of Premier Protective service as well as Jay-Phares Corporation. With over 30 years of experience as a business owner and local business consultant, Wayne Ingbritson manages residential properties, commercial properties, does project planning, personnel training and scheduling.
Bobby Nelson is a Property Manager at Jay-Phares Corporation. Beyond managing commercial properties he also assists in the redevelopment of commercial and multi-family residential sites. Mr. Nelson is a licensed Real Estate Sales Agent. Additionally, he has experience in management, marketing, and office technology. As a local resident of Oakland, he has a firsthand understanding of the needs of its’ diverse urban community, in which he has resided for more than thirty-eight years.
